MetroShoe Warehouse & NetSuite

  • MetroShoe Warehouse adopted Oracle NetSuite ERP as its central business management system. 
  • However, the lack of direct integration with BigCommerce and Amazon made it difficult to maintain real-time visibility into orders, inventory, and customer data. 
  • Partnering with Folio3 helped them bridge this gap with a fully automated, scalable solution that unified their eCommerce and ERP systems.

MetroShoe Warehouse collaborated with Folio3 to improve its online store operations with the integration of BigCommerce and Amazon Seller Central with NetSuite ERP using Folio3’s connectors. 

The BigCommerce – NetSuite integration automated order processing, customer data management, inventory updates, and product synchronization. Folio3 further customized the solution to support multiple product images, consolidate inventory from various warehouses, and manage up to 200 product variations. 

Simultaneously, the Amazon – NetSuite integration automated real-time data synchronization across customer, order, and product records. The system updated inventory, order statuses, and payments automatically, while custom features like Fulfilled by Amazon (FBA) support, advanced field mappings, and expanded image handling made sure the marketplace operations ran without any disruption.

The Challenges

With the business growth, MetroShoe Warehouse’s eCommerce operations were also growing, which led to some significant challenges as mentioned below:  

  • With their BigCommerce store and NetSuite ERP operating independently, they experienced time-consuming manual processes, especially for updating sales orders, inventory levels, product data, and customer information. 
  • They required a fully automated integration solution to keep both platforms in sync and accommodate specific business needs to manage product variants and consolidate inventory from multiple locations.
  • Before the integration with Folio3’s NetSuite Amazon Connector, order and inventory management from Amazon Seller Central within NetSuite was time-consuming and error-prone due to manual data entry. 
  • This hindered efficient synchronization of order information, customer data, and inventory levels. 
  • They struggled to manage fulfillment statuses, shipping updates, payments, order cancellations, and out-of-stock indicators, which affected accuracy and customer satisfaction.

Solution

The NetSuite BigCommerce Connector automated several key processes and helped address the challenges:

  • Import Customers from BigCommerce to NetSuite.
  • Import Sales Orders from BigCommerce to NetSuite.
  • Export Item Data from NetSuite to BigCommerce.
  • Export Order Status and Shipping Info from NetSuite to BigCommerce.
  • Cash Sale sync from NetSuite to BigCommerce.
  • Export Inventory Quantity from NetSuite to BigCommerce.
  • Export Sales Price from NetSuite to BigCommerce.
  • Refund sync from NetSuite to BigCommerce.
  • Import Individual Sales Orders from the Connector Dashboard.
  • Search for Imported BigCommerce Sales Orders in NetSuite.
  • Search for Imported BigCommerce Customer Records in NetSuite.
  • Sync Sales Orders On Demand from BigCommerce to NetSuite, from the Connector Dashboard.
  • Sync Items On Demand from NetSuite to BigCommerce, from the Connector Dashboard.
  • Sync Refunds On Demand from NetSuite to BigCommerce, from the Connector Dashboard.
  • Filter Synced Data and Data Sync Log based on Certain Parameters, from the Connector Dashboard.

Folio3’s NetSuite Amazon Connector provided timely updates for fulfillment statuses, shipping, payments, cancellations, and out-of-stock items. The main features of this solution included:

  • Import Sales Orders from Amazon to NetSuite (FBM only)
  • Import Customers from Amazon to NetSuite
  • Export Item Data from NetSuite to Amazon (as Amazon listings)
  • Export Inventory Quantity from NetSuite to Amazon
  • Payment/Invoice Sync from Amazon to NetSuite
  • Export Sales Price from NetSuite to Amazon
  • Export Order Status and Shipping Info from NetSuite to Amazon (for FBM orders)
  • Import Order Cancellations from Amazon to NetSuite
  • Mark Items as ‘Out Of Stock’ on Amazon from NetSuite

Customizations Implemented

To meet MetroShoe Warehouse’s additional requirements, Folio3 implemented the following customizations:

  • Sync/export up to four (4) images per item from NetSuite to BigCommerce.
  • Sync the combined (consolidated) inventory from multiple NetSuite warehouse locations to the BigCommerce website.
  • Map up to 200 variants for matrix items from NetSuite to the BigCommerce website.
  • Sync/Export up to four images per item from NetSuite to Amazon
  • Consolidate inventory from multiple NetSuite warehouses to Amazon
  • Sync up to 200 variants for matrix items from NetSuite to Amazon
  • Import Amazon orders without tax to NetSuite
  • Import Amazon returns independent of settlement reports
  • Support for simple dropdown fields in NetSuite
  • Mapping of up to 50 fields per record in the connector

In addition to the above-mentioned features, MetroShoe Warehouse wanted the following features supported in the integration, which are available as (paid) add-ons:

Add-Ons:

  1. FBA Support (Import FBA orders and transfer inventory to Amazon)
  2. Synchronization of Amazon Fees, Charges, and Refunds
MetroShoe Results

Results

The deployment of the BigCommerce and Amazon connectors for MetroShoe Warehouse generated the following results:
  • The integration of MetroShoe Warehouse’s BigCommerce store with NetSuite ERP through Folio3’s BigCommerce NetSuite Connector made order processing faster and more efficient through automation. 
  • By combining inventory from different warehouses, MetroShoe Warehouse gained better control over stock levels, helping to prevent stockouts and overstocking.
  • The customized solution enabled the display of more product images and up to 200 product variations, positioning MetroShoe Warehouse for growth in the competitive online market.
  • The integration of MetroShoe Warehouse’s Amazon Seller Central account with their NetSuite ERP system led to accurate stock levels and minimized overselling risks.
