NetSuite Quality Management helps growing manufacturers and distributors maintain consistent product quality as operations scale. By embedding quality checks directly into production and inventory workflows, businesses can reduce rework, meet compliance requirements, and prevent quality issues from reaching customers.
NetSuite Quality Management allows you to define standardized test definitions that enforce consistent inspection criteria across products, suppliers, and locations. By setting acceptable ranges, measurements, and inspector requirements, quality checks become repeatable and audit-ready, reducing variation and ensuring compliance as volumes increase.
With NetSuite Quality Management, inspections can be triggered automatically at key stages such as goods receipt and in-process production steps. This helps quality teams identify defects early, stop non-conforming materials from moving forward, and minimize scrap, rework, and downstream production delays.
NetSuite Quality Management enables inspectors to record results directly from mobile devices on the warehouse floor or production line. Real-time data capture improves accuracy, eliminates paperwork delays, and gives operations and quality leaders immediate visibility into inspection outcomes across shifts and locations.
Quality Management in NetSuite lets you configure inspection rules by item, vendor, or location and automate the actions that follow failed tests. Whether materials need to be placed on hold, reworked, or returned to suppliers, workflows ensure quality issues are handled consistently without slowing production.
NetSuite Quality Management provides real-time dashboards and reports to track defect rates, inspection trends, and supplier quality performance. These insights help teams identify root causes, improve vendor accountability, and continuously strengthen quality processes as the business grows.
The Quality Management with NetSuite enables businesses to overcome common hurdles in maintaining consistent product quality. By implementing inspections, workflows, and reporting directly into your ERP, you ensure compliance, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Different teams following different inspection methods make quality unreliable. NetSuite Quality Management lets you set clear policies and consistent inspection metrics for every product.
Defective items that reach customers damage trust and margins. NetSuite embeds inspections into workflows so issues are caught early and only compliant products enter inventory.
Paper-based inspection reporting slows teams down and introduces mistakes. NetSuite’s mobile app captures inspection data instantly and accurately at the point of activity.
High inspection volumes make it hard to see trends. NetSuite stores results within the ERP and provides tools to track and analyze them.

Any business that produces, assembles, or distributes goods can benefit. Whether you’re in manufacturing, food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, or consumer goods, the module helps you enforce quality standards across your operations.
Because it’s built on the NetSuite ERP platform, it integrates seamlessly with Inventory, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain modules. This means your quality control processes are directly connected to production, warehousing, and financial reporting.
Yes, Folio3 implements the NetSuite Quality Management module. We provide end-to-end services, including configuration of test definitions, setting up inspection workflows (receiving, in-process, and final), mobile data collection, dashboard and analytics setup, and post-launch support.
You can consolidate quality cases by setting up case records directly in the Quality Management SuiteApp and linking them to items, suppliers, or production runs. Once stored, use saved searches and SuiteAnalytics to group cases by item type, defect category, or production line.
Exporting these results into SuiteAnalytics Workbooks lets you build pivot tables or charts to spot recurring defects. From there, root cause analysis becomes much easier because you can trace which supplier, batch, or process consistently creates issues.
In NetSuite Quality Management, go to Inspection Rule Setup and define the characteristic as a Boolean type. You’ll then add a “Pass” or “Fail” condition (for example, “Y = Pass, N = Fail” or “1 = Pass, 0 = Fail”). When inspectors record results on tablets or mobile devices, the system automatically evaluates the Boolean entry against your rule. This prevents subjective decisions, either it meets the rule or it doesn’t.
Audit through analytics. Regularly review inspection data using saved searches to make sure workflows are being followed.
COA printing is a common pain point because the standard templates are basic. The fix usually involves:
This usually happens because the user role doesn’t have the right permissions. The tablet app filters inspection tasks by role access, so if “View” or “Edit” isn’t granted for Quality Management records, users see a blank screen. To fix it:
Add or adjust permissions for “Quality Management” and related records (Inspection, Specification, Item).
After updating, refresh the tablet app, and the tasks should appear correctly.
