Summary
How Midwest Textiles & Supplies transitioned from Sage 100 to NetSuite?
The embroidery industry has to manage thousands of specialized materials, face frequent machine downtime, and deal with complex inventory tracking. These issues can lead to stockouts, missed deadlines, and unhappy customers. Being in business since 1993, Midwest Textiles faced these exact problems. Their solution? Midwest Textile & Supplies decided to transition from Sage 100 to NetSuite and we implemented SuiteSuccess Manufacturing Edition so they can access real-time inventory visibility, automated reordering, and optimized production scheduling.
The Challenge
- As Midwest Textiles & Supplies scaled from $15M in revenue to a projected $30M, they found themselves outgrowing Sage 100.
- Their manufacturing processes lacked visibility, making tasks like cutting and production planning inefficient.
- The disconnect between their Warehouse Management System (WMS) and core operations further complicated workflows, leading to bottlenecks and delays.
- Frequent Sage updates disrupted WMS functionality, creating ongoing operational challenges that would only worsen with growth.
- Having relied on Sage for years, the shift to NetSuite SuiteSuccess Manufacturing Edition was a significant departure from their long-standing processes.
Solution
Folio3 implemented NetSuite SuiteSuccess Manufacturing Edition for Midwest Textiles & Supplies. The setup included financial management (departments, locations, subsidiaries, journal entries, and reports), inventory control (pricing, transactions, costing, and demand planning), and purchasing (vendor setup, orders, payments, and shipments). Sales and customer management were optimized with CRM, quotes, orders, invoicing, payments, and shipping. We also reviewed financial reports and enabled NetSuite’s analytics, including saved searches, dashboards, KPIs, and trend analysis for real-time insights.
